New Pampan Bridge : The New Pampan Bridge is the first vertically opened bridge in India

The Madurai Divisional Railway Administration said, "The old Pampan railway bridge built during the British era, which has been in use for 110 years, has become weak and has become unusable. The girder sections of the bridge, which are opened to allow ships to pass through, began to corrode due to the sea salt air despite being periodically painted. Due to this rust, the weight of the iron bars started to decrease in some places.
